Having seen the tapes, what's up with all the wild stories about the show itself? I wasn't born in time to see it for myself.

It's really odd to read all this, bc it seems like the tapes are supposed to be reprints of the show, at least that's how they're advertised on the case, and yet the show is spoken of as being this incredible experience. The tapes I've had since childhood were all very standard fare for this kind of Christian cartoon (VeggieTales very handily won me over as a result), so...was the TV show different from the tapes? And why are all these "personalized" stories so popular, too?
